Probably the best way to follow, I guess, given the random timing of my postings.
I dislike it too but it's the lesser of two evils.
The "vote" documents record the "HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR" address, but from what I can see not all gateways provide this data and the format is unpredictable (if an IP address at all).
At some point I'll go about appending the real IP to the cross-checking code to help out those at companies behind a main router.
Glad you like the UI though. All done in CSS3.

Hi Jake. There was a time when I considered codestore to be one of the best resources out there and probably the best contribution by a single person. But then Lotus Notes went in one direction and it seemed codestore went in another. Now whenever I need to develop Web solutions I simply code the solution with XPages and I don't need all the Domino hacks etc. that your Web site was famous for. I still like reading your perspectives on alternative Web technologies. I'm just not finding the need to use those. Thanks for all those great tips over the years. They have helped me out on a great many occasions.

Thanks for your honesty. I'm sure you're the not the only one who thinks the same.
It's something I'm aware of -- that 10 years of content I've built is in, in effect, now redundant. I guess it served its purpose at the time though.
Is this site redundant though? I don't know. I know it's not as "important" as it once was, but I like to think I share useful nuggets from time to time still.
Who knows what the future direction will be. Perhaps it will be XPages, but, for that to happen, I need to get some work that requires it and that doesn't look likely as Domino is all but a memory to me at the moment. Sad but true.

"I don't visit any more." Umm isn't that a paradox? I mean if you never visit, how can you vote? And if you've visited to vote then you can't choose this option. Just sayin'.
For me, it's RSS. Both via Netvibes and Planet Lotus. Depends which gets the update first (normally PL).

I haven't done any Notes development in a year, but I still enjoy reading, hoping that I can have a go with some of the new things you are getting to use. Even though the development work I am doing is SQL, I still have aspirations of being a younger Jake Howlett one day!! :) Just a more intelligent, better looking, more charismatic, dashing, dare I say more brilliant; Jake Howlett!?!

I have been doing domino development since 1995; I have found your website to be very helpfull over the years and I still search and use your old content. The company I work for is not doing exactly 'cutting edge' Domino work, so a lot of the stuff we implement could be considered to be comparitively old-school, so I continue to value you site as a "code store" for various solutions. And if you got around to updating some of the old matrerial that you now see as less relevent, I would still read it.

I visited codestore page once in week. I like your blogs, not only the technical things but the way your write. Many times I go thru your old blogs and try to learn those things.

I visit codestore about once a week or maybe a little more often. I don't develop in Domino any more but it was a good transition between COBOL and Java.
I appreciate the technical walkthroughs and the family notes, with a fair bit of nostalgia since this blog is one of the first I read consistently (and that it's still around!)
