Epsilon IT Systems - Blast From The Past
My mum comes over two days a week to look after the kiddies while Karen is at work. This morning she brought some scrap paper for them to doodle on. Turned out to be the letter-heads from the company I formed before Rockall, which was called Epsilon IT Systems. Not seen this for about 10+ years.
It makes me smile and cringe at the same time. What's with the CLP logo? What's with the logo design! It was just a company to use while I was contracting. Why did I agonise over the name so much!? I chose Epsilon as I liked the sound of the word and it harks back to my engineering degree background. The IT Systems bit came about there was already a company called Epsilon and one called Epsilon IT. Could just as well called it Qwedjsdsere ltd for all it mattered.
It must just have been the fact I was the director of a company (hey, it says so above the CLP logo ;-) that went to my head a bit. There really was no need for any business stationary. Kept mum and dad supplied with scrap paper for the last ten years though. Although, apparently, they're about to run out. Might have another 500 sheets of A4 for them though, as it's turned out I still don't really need letter-header paper even now I'm the director of a "proper" company.
Anyway, just thought it funny that mum brought this over in the same week I'd been talking about my new invoice design, so I thought I'd share it here.
Almost as good/bad (delete as applicable) as Kizar Consultants Ltd. Which was my old contracting company. Kizar is an abbreviation of Kizarvexius - A Dragon from SnarfQuest. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SnarfQuest

Too funny. A buddy of mine calls his company Praxis8 after one of the moons off of Star Trek or Star Wars I forget. Then the number 8 was his sons favorite number :)
I also used to work for Binary Thinking, to computer guys it makes since but I used to always have to explain the name when in conversation because no one understood it. Oh well.

Jake,
I like the name "Qwedjsdsere" - got a sort of ring to it. Also I like the jackson pollock paper - can see your early 90s influences in there.
Step On

When I first went contracting, I bought an off the shelf company...."Absolutely Fabulous Computing Limited" which sounded like fun at the time (and I was obviously Absolutely Fabulous ;-) ) but as soon as I had to give it out to employers I felt it was maybe not such a good idea after all. Pretentious - Moi??
