Partial Snow-Day For Rockall
Despite the treacherous conditions out there all Rockall staff managed to make it in to work today. That said, all it took was a dozen careful steps.
In return I'm rewarded with a winter-wonderland-like view from the window.
If I worked in an office and needed to commute I think I'd have declared this a "snow day". That's what Quinn's school has done today and so the whole family is indoors right now.
Karen's like a giddy kipper and planning a morning of snow-based fun with other house-bound families on our street. Despite having told her I'm way to busy to join them I can't not be there when Felix has his first go on a sledge! Hence, as "head of everything" at Rockall I'm declaring this a partial snow day and we're off to find a suitable hill later on this morning. Finally the sled we bought three years ago is going to finally see some use.
I'll post photos when we return. I was going to talk more Flex today. That will have to wait... who knows when we'll see snow like this again.
We here in London got our Snowfall on Sunday night. Monday morning was a nightmare for London commuters. No buses running (at all). Most of the underground was shutdown. Trains delayed/cancelled. Roads were deserted. Almost 4 inches of snow in the centre of London. Unheard of.
Have fun in the snow, but have a care. So many people have been injured or even killed sledging in this, the heaviest snowfall in 18 years.
Jake, glad you managed your dangerous commute to work without any hassle! Have fun out in the snow, I stupidly drove the 15 miles to work, only to find the office pretty much empty! Oh well.
Jake,
We've had 47 inches of snowfall so far this winter here in Wisconsin. Generally in February and March we will see a couple more heavy snowfalls in the form of winter storms (blizzards).
Thankfully, on snow days, my commute is about 15 feet to my home office next to the kitchen. ;-)
