Surf's Up Dude
Sorry about that. We just took an impromptu holiday and spent three days in Cornwall. A friend of ours (my best man) has moved to Watergate Bay (next one along from Newquay) to work at the hotel there. The chance of free beds and cheap food was too much to resist. Plus this is probably the last chance we'll get to go and see him there.
The weather was unseasonably good and the sun shone all day Tuesday, giving us plenty of time to walk along the beaches. There's something about UK beaches unlike any others in the world that make them so nice to walk along with the dog. We miss not having a local beach (Skeggy doesn't count) since we left Sunderland. Yes, Sunderland has a beach! One day I hope we return to living by, if not on, the coast.
Anyway, I think I've mentioned my "when in Rome" approach to travelling. No prizes for guessing what I did this week while in Newquay:
Needless to say, I was a natural. Not. We also ate a fair amount of scones with clotted cream. Had to be done!
Back to normal next week.

Did you actually stay at the hotel? If so do they let you take dogs, and most importantly was it any good?

Whats wrong with skeggy? ;) Leicester/Notts by the sea! Its fun - for an hour.
David. No. We stayed in the staff lodgings. Can't comment on how good the hotel is although the food in the brasserie was excellent. AFAIK it's "dog friendly". In fact the whole place is. Can find out for sure if you like.
