New Article and Further Inspiration
Noticed the new article? Took more than two months. Sorry about that. Had more important things on my plate recently.
Finding the time to write articles isn't always the hardest part. Sometimes it can be finding the topic to write about. Sometimes I think I'll run out of ideas, but there seems to be an endless source of inspiration out there. On Friday I was reading Ned's site (recently moved from my "Domino" folder of feeds to "Misc."). Last Tuesday he talked about Windows shell reads XML processing instructions. Not really of interest to us apart from his link to "using XSLT to create Word documents". Now we're talking!
I know you guys love any kind of interaction between your Domino websites and MS Office. The fact that there's now a XML scema for Office documents means it's a lot easier to create them from our Domino data.
There's a blog about Office and XML as well as a book, which you can either buy or simply download the examples file for.
I'll have more on this tomorrow. Including some examples hopefully.
Seems like a step in the right direction for MS to support the OpenDocument format.

... or put it in your O'Reilley bookshelf. Like ca. 80% of all books about programming this book is available on O'Reilley Safari (they have books from different publishers, not only O'Reilley). Costs 10$ a month and I find it usefull to get access to content of books which might not yet qualify for a full buy.
Hello All!
Just worried about the situation out there in London and if Jake is affected by it anyhow. Somenews on this please!
Hope all is good!
Hi Nick. I'm OK. Thanks for asking. I'm based in Nottingham now and no longer live in London. Although, when I did, they were the stations I would have been in at that time of the day. Words escape me.
Yes that is good. In Moscow this awful kind of things happens too! It is a really small world today.
Life is going on and we are all eager for some updates on this site! :)
The best part of my day on the 7th was getting a response email from a friend who does live in London saying he and family were safe. "Its a sad day but brings things into perspective about what matters in life". That was as good a comfort as any. I live 5 time zones away but still felt a strong emotional impact. I can only thank God it wasn't worse.
