How Time Flies
The occasion may have passed me by but I've just been reminded exactly how long this site has been going. More than four years! Needless to say I had no idea back then that it would still be going strong today. Who knows what the next four years hold hey? A burger-flipping blog at this rate!
Back then I had my first taste of what it's like to share code when I published a demo database in the Sandbox that refreshed keywords in one drop-down when those in another changed. The beauty of the approach being that there was no need to return to the server each time. It used JavaScript instead.
Anyway, I am reminded of this following a comment made on Wednesday's post about DHTML. Could the same code be used to dynamically create options in a select element. Why sure it can. This, I thought, would be a better example of how to create elements in the DOM anyway. So I've knocked-up a quick demo for you all to use/download/refer to in future. Hope you find it useful.
If you find either that or this site useful then you can repay me (and others more in need) by sponsoring me in this year's London to Brighton bike ride. Use the link below if you can spare some change. Come on, if you all gave a little...

I'll be going on and on about it more towards the time, trying to extract every last penny out of you all! I'll leave you with the picture of the vehicle we'll be using for this 54 mile journey. Bonkers ;o)
Update: It's come to my attention that there's a delay in the sponsorship system. Even after receiving receipt via email it seems there's a delay before the above page reflects it. Don't know why. Sorry.
Hi Jake,
maybe some problem accepting visa's from downunder? the site would accept my card..no sure if this just affects me or others...
Hi Brett. When you say "would accept" I assume you mean wouldn't? No idea why. I am having trouble understanding their system and by their own admission it is only a "few months old". Have/can you try again?
