All Change
Remember just over a year ago I proclaimed I was putting an end to my nomadic lifestyle, with a move to Sunderland. Well I kind of knew then that the North East wouldn't be my home for ever. I like the place and the people but it's just too darned remote. Despite making friends here, most of them live miles away. Getting anywhere in the country is a pain. Last summer we drove to a wedding in Essex and it took nine hours!
Yesterday I mentioned Karen's interview in Nottingham. Glad to say she did me proud and got the job! My tour of the country is finally over, having gone full-circle and ending in a return to my home county of Nottinghamshire.
Nottingham isn't the biggest or best city in the country; it's just another city. However, it's smack bang in the centre of the country, next to the M1 and 2 hours from London on the train. Not to mention close to family and life-long friends. It just makes more sense.
I'll try not to bore you too much with the whole saga of moving house, but it's bound to pop-up every now and then...
Nottingham is cool, although I don't live there. I find myself up there alot at Holme Pier Point. Hope you enjoy the move.
I do question your geography if you think Nottingham is smack bang in the middle of the country. But I suppose its pretty close. :-)
Nottingham has a 70/30 ration of women to men aswell I'll have you know... Way Hey.........
Isn't that just the Universities!
I've always told people that that's an urban myth.
No doubt in the hope they would leave you to it with all the lovely ladies...
Here Here..
I moved here 7 years ago and married a Nottingham lass. 'Nuff said. And it's definitely better than Widnes (my home town).
As is Baghdad...
Nottinghams great - even though I live in the city just south of it I'm out/work in Nottingham just as much as my own - they spent a lot of money on it over the last few years - and it tells - whilst my own hasn't - and well that tells as well.
Gits even 'stole' our airport!
There's nothing wrong with Nottingham! It's got some great IT consultants living here if nothing else ;-)
And it was our Airport first!!
I've flown out of that airport, and I don't understand why you lads are fighting over it. :-D
Gawd - "remote" ? Newcastle ? I live another five hours *north* of there!
I dont know...

Jake, the Robin Hooded Man;-)
Congrats to Karen !
