Dead Domino Sites
In my time running codestore I've seen many other sites aimed at Domino developers come and go. Some of them look good and have real potential but most soon go limp and die off. Then there are the sites like Johan Känngård's that I forget to look at for months on end and when I go back they've obviously been busy bees.
I think I'm showing signs of having spent too long coding. I keep catching myself writing "color" when I'm in the real-world ;o)
And finally, something funny - if artichects were treated like us.
What about http://www.notesninjas.com?
Can't believe you missed that one out ;-)
Johan's site is really good...the stuff about custom classes in LS etc is especially interesting / useful.
Ben if it were a name & shame exercise and I tried to list them all I'd be here all day... good point though. Had forgotten that one. Anybody want to name and shame any others?? This could be fun!
What happens to long running personal websites when the 'person' dies? Is there a place in heaven for codestore? Or is its hosting and maintenence provided for in Jake's will?
Joking aside, there are a great many websites I read that are mainly one person's work. I was joking about the grim reaper (topical, and who'll have the last laugh at me anyway), but there are probably good sites that disappear or start to rot due to marriage, career change, unemployment, childbirth, drug addiction, and yes, death.
It would the be the mark of a truly "GREAT" (for GREAT, don't read bbc.co.uk) webmaster if (s)he handed over their site to a younger one at such times!
2 fantastic spanish sites:
www.notesring.com
www.iwebcode.info
Thanks
I think you've missed the point Jordi. Unless you use the word fantastic with some hidden irony - I can't tell how good they are as my Spanish is awful.
Haven't really checked out notesring.com; but the articles of www.iwebcode.info translate pretty well when you feed them through http://babel.altavista.com.
