My Stint At A DotCom
It's a beautiful day in London. Not a cloud in the sky. Yes, it does happen, but only when I'm in an office. It rained on me yesterday while out on my bike. Reminds me of this time last year when I was working not in London's City but in the West End. I had gone there to work for a "dot com". A big-small company that welcomed you to their family. As it turned out the family wasn't that close and after a few months they took the whole Domino team aside and give us the "work your notice" speach. Cheers. I then found myself without a job at what was probably the worst time ever to be looking for work. Five months it took me to find another contract.
The company was Ebone and that was a sign of things to come. They were taken over by KPNQwest and, amid a lot of press, they are now closing down. This was to be the "biggest test" of the internet so far. Europe's service was going to grind to a halt. Anybody noticed?
Moral of the story - stay in the City and work for the banks.
I ordered one of these yesterday. Expect to see lots of pointless, random photos appearing here and there ;o)
