APPLICATION DESIGN
Before you can create and use a Data Connection Resource, you must first create a data source server reference to the external application using a data source that is defined on the server. For example, to create a data source for a Microsoft Access database on a Windows NT server, you would use the Windows System Tools utility to specify the Microsoft Access table as a data source and ODBC as the data driver to use for data exchange.
If you do not have access to the server on which the external database resides, work with your system administrator or database manager to make sure the data source is defined.
