Loops through all the validation tags in the form and displays the content of the message attributes of any tags for which validation failed. If no values are supplied in the message attributes of the failed validation tags, a default error message displays.

The following attributes are optional:

bundle

Name of the message bundle to use if the msgkey attribute is specified. The default search sequence is followed and if no message is found, the default resource bundle name, messages, is used.

Heading of the summary error message. The content of this attribute is treated as pass-thru HTML. If not specified, the system looks for a default header that you should provide in a message.properties file. For example, you could name the default error message entry:

messages.DEFAULT_SUMMARY

in the localized messages file. See Formatting JSP content for details.

Key to use to find the heading of the summary error message. If not specified, the system will look in the specified bundle for the value of: message.DEFAULT_SUMMARY.

Format to display the validation error message in as specified by the keywords supplied. See Formatting JSP content for a list of available formatting keywords. Default is <li>.

Locale to use to locate the proper message bundle. If specified, overrides the locale that the browser specifies in the AcceptLang string. Use the following syntax: "<languageCode>_<countryCode>". See Locale codes for more details. By default, uses the first locale specified in the AcceptLang string for the browser.
